ITServ implements innovative anti-spam protection
With the growing amount of unsolicited commercial e-mail ('spam') received by members of the AIT community, and the current pattern-matching detection showing its limits due to the creativity of spammers, ITServ has started using more innovative techniques to
protect our AIT users from spam.
This includes so-called 'greylisting', a method used by several large mail services, that has proven being quite effective. The anti-spam protection has been implemented on 20 Dec.2005. It is expected that most users suffering from heavy spamming will notice a significant improvement. Like with any anti-spam method, there's a small but not negligible risk of false positives. Such should really only cause some delay in the delivery of the concerned messages and no loss or bounces.
When users feel that you might have been affected, please report cases to the ITServ Helpdesk with full details (sender, recipient, date and time) for investigation and corrective action.
Users noticing a significant drop in the amount of spam they receive are strongly encouraged to write their feedbacks too at: helpdesk@ait.ac.th
