Automotive design the focus of new degree program
The Design and Manufacturing Engineering field of study is asking for input in developing a new master's degree program in automotive design and manufacturing engineering to support the rapid growth of automotive industry in the region.
Small Projects Facility could provide AIT funds
There will be a dissemination event regarding the European Union-Thailand Economic Cooperation Small Projects Facility on Friday, 17 March
2006 at the Siam City Hotel in Bangkok.
Two projects involving AIT were funded by the project last year.
Solid waste management discussed in Vientiane
The CIDA-AIT Partnership, Southeast Asia Urban Environmental Management Applications (SEA-UEMA) Project under the Urban Environmental Management field of study will be co-organizing a policy dialog on Sustainable Solid Waste Management in Vientiane, Lao PDR on 24 March 2006 with the Urban Research Institute, Ministry of Communication, Transport, Post and Construction, Lao PDR. AIT has an agreement with the Lao institute as its facilitating partner for co-organizing and carrying out the various activities of the SEA-UEMA project.
Lectures explore spirituality, technology and role of business in the 21st century
On 10 April 2006, AIT will host Her Holiness Maa Sai Lakshmi Devi to lecture on 'Spirituality and Technology' and Ms. Marilyn Tam to subsequently lecture on 'The Role of Business in the 21st Century.

The second of three modules in a leadership development program conducted by the School of Management for up and coming managers of Ansell Limited recently concluded.
Ansell Limited is an Australian-based corporation that specializes in health-care barrier protection products.
Engineering conference calls for papers
The 7th Asia Pacific Industrial Engineering & Management Systems conference, which will be held from 17 to 20 December 2006 at the Intercontinental Hotel Bangkok, is putting out a call for papers.
Organized by AIT in collaboration with the Industrial Engineers Network, Thailand, Thai Researchers Consortium of Value Chain Management and Logistics, the conference aims to provide a forum for exchange of ideas and discussion among leading academics, researchers and practitioners on the latest developments.

A delegation from AIT visited Sri Lanka 16 and 17 February 2006 to follow up on the already well establish links AIT currently enjoys with the Sri Lankan government, ministries, universities and private sector as well as to have discussion on the proposed establishment of the AIT Center in Applied Biotechnology with the partnership of the University of Colombo and University of Peradeniya.
