AIT's Student Union announces the 'Bangkok International Latin Culture
Festival' from 21 to 23 April 2006.
This cultural event, the first in its kind in Thailand, takes advantage of
the growing interest in the Latin culture and an expanding number of people
enjoying Latin music and dance expressions around Asia.

Hong Kong- born and American naturalized businesswoman Ms. Marilyn Tam and spiritual leader Her Holiness Sai Maa Lakshmi Devi, whose teachings are supported by a United States foundation known as Humanity in Unity, spoke on the future of business and on spirituality and technology.

Mekong region's wetlands, rural poor get boost from Sweden
H. E. Mr. Jonas Hafström, Swedish ambassador to Thailand, and AIT President Said Irandoust sign an agreement that funds the Wetlands Alliance Programme through December 2008.
The future of the wetlands and their inhabitants in the Mekong region appears brighter, after the 5 April 2006 signing of an agreement in which the government of Sweden will fund a program known as the Wetlands Alliance.

The aluminum and packaging company, Alcan, Inc. and the International Business Leaders Forum have announced a call for entries for the 2006 $1 million Alcan Prize for Sustainability.
The Alcan Prize is open to all nonprofit, non-governmental, and civil-society organizations based anywhere in the world that are working to advance the goals of economic, environmental, and social sustainability.

To bring AIT Conference Center up to the hotel standard and more services to the AIT community and AIT guests, after almost two decades, the snooker room has been brought back. Opened on 4 April, the snooker room features a standard competition table and is open 24 hours.

Trial access to UNESCO encyclopedia re-activated
UNESCO has re-activated a free trial access to Encyclopedia of Life Support Systems to be available to the AIT community until 4 April 2007.
The encyclopedia is an integrated compendium of 16 stand-alone encyclopedias in synergetic synthesis.
