AIT, Indonesian institute agree to future collaboration
AIT and the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Indonesia entered into an agreement on 1 July for establish collaborative relations.
AIT President Said Irandoust and ITS Rector Ir. Mohammad Nuh Dea signed the memorandum of understanding that promotes exchange of information, joint research, international seminars, exchanges of staff faculty and students and other cooperation seen as mutually beneficial. Specific details of such cooperation will be agreed upon in future agreements.
ITS is the largest engineering institute in Eastern Indonesia with more than 17,000 postgraduate, undergraduate and vocational students. The institute employs more than 900 lecturers including 44 professors, 147 doctors, and 457 masters. They were graduated from well known universities in Indonesia as well as abroad. This qualification makes ITS becoming one of the outstanding reference for education and research in science and technology for other universities in Indonesia.
The institute’s main campus is situated in Sukolilo, about five kilometers east of the centre of Surabaya, Eastern Java capital city. ITS Surabaya has two additional campuses in Manyar and Cokroaminoto, for a vocational program in civil engineering and a magister program in management.
ITS offers 76 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science and engineering, including four doctoral programs and 14 magister programs. The institute also has an extensive research and development program.
