American newspaper features AIT-related tsunami recovery program
The Providence Journal, a newspaper in Providence, Rhode Island, Unites States, featured on 13 July a program in which AIT is involved in tsunami recovery efforts.
The story focused on the Post-Tsunami Sustainable Coastal Livelihoods project, which is sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development and carried out by the Coastal Resources Center of the University of Rhode Island and AIT.
Ms. Sumon Sangkaew is a field researcher for the program, which is part of Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management and was interviewed for the story. She is stationed at the project office in Ranong province and is one of three AIT staff based in Ranong office: Mr. Chris Dunbar, the field coordinator, an AIT project fixed term staff seconded by URI, and Mr. Theerachai Haitook, another field researcher. The project's principal investigator is Dr. Amrit Bart.
