Director sought for AIT Center in Vietnam

AIT President Said Irandoust announced the call for nomination and application for the position of director, AIT Center in Vietnam.

A new director for our AIT Center in Vietnam will be appointed effective 1 January 2007. Prof. Nguyen Cong Thanh has served as director of AIT Center in Vietnam for six years, following his retirement from AIT as a faculty member.

A deputy director will be appointed effective 1 October 2006 who will assist the current director until taking over the directorship 1 January 2007.

Members of the AIT community are invited to assist in the identification of suitable candidates, both internal and external, for the position of the deputy director. The nominations or applications including curriculum vitae and also a rationale indicating the candidate's motivation, competency and relevant qualities can be submitted to the president at : president@ait.ac.th

The qualified candidates must have an excellent academic record; proven track record and high-level of competencies and experiences within the fields of research, education and outreach activities in mobilizing support from external stakeholders namely from governments, international agencies, the alumni, and in networking with the public and private sectors of Vietnam; critical thinkers with high-level of integrity and well respected internally and externally; stimulating personality with good interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural environment who can generate commonality of purpose and support inside and outside the AIT Center in Vietnam. The deadline for applications and nominations is 4 August 2006.
