Dr. Der-Guey Lin, a former faculty in the former Geotechnical Engineering and Transportation Division, AIT, and currently an Associate Professor, Department of Soil and Water Conservation, National Chung-Hsing University, recently informed AIT that the Bureau of International Cultural and Education Relation is likely to second one faculty member for the coming September 2006 (or January 2007), based on AIT's Proposals to Ministry of Education, Government of Taiwan. Dr. Lin will apply for the position for AIT secondment if AIT places the requirement on Geotechnical and Geoenvironment
Program of School of Engineering and Technology (SET).
Meanwhile, the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (NYU at Central Taiwan) is currently working on a project based on the instruction from Ministry of Education to set up a program for the cooperation with AIT in the near future.
He added that once the relation between AIT and Taiwan is resumed, the initiation of scholarship becomes feasible with very high possibility.
