EUR 12.6 million is available to fund partnership projects.
ESRC / DFID Joint Research Funding Scheme (Second Call)
The Department for International Development (DFID) and Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) launched the joint DFID-ESRC scheme (2nd Call).
This scheme aims to fund scientific research on issues relating to economic development and quality of life in less developed countries with the potential for impact on policy and practice for poverty reduction.

Project Engineer:
Thai national
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, preferably chemical, sanitary, mechanical, or civil engineering
High proficiency in spoken and written English
1 to 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in renewable energy or agro industry
Experience in project management, environmental impact assessment, permitting, and operation, and maintenance would be highly desirable
Experience in engineering contracts would be a plus
Project Officer:
Thai national
Bachelor's or Master's degree in science, engineering, or business with exposure to renewable energy, forestry, or agro industry
High proficiency in spoken and written English
1 to 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in renewable energy, agro industry, or agro forestry
Experience in financial modeling or project management would be desirable
Experience in commercial or engineering contracts would be a plus

ADA, Vienna, to renew its cooperation program with AIT
Through External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO)'s initiative, the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) in Vienna has expressed to renew its cooperation program with AIT under the terms and condition outlined in a draft framework.
AIT to help support NUOL's development of administrative capacity and management skills
Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) council on 14 June 2006 approved the allocation of 8.5 million Swedish Krona (SEK) for the extension of the current agreement on bilateral research collaboration between Sida and the National University of Laos (NUOL). The agreement which ended 30 June 2006 will be extended to 31 March 2007.
The support for research cooperation was initiated in 2003 with a focus on training of lecturers.

On Monday, 3 July 2006, SEAFCO Public Company Limited and AIT entered into an agreement that will provide two scholarships for master’s degree students and make provisions for joint research projects.
