SERD welcomes visiting senior lecturer
The School of Environment, Resources and Development welcomes Dr. Jega V. Jegatheesan from Australia as a visiting senior lecturer in the Environmental Engineering and Management field of study.
Dr. Jegatheesan (right) received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia in 1999, and has served as a senior lecturer in the School of Engineering, James Cook University, Australia, since 2001. He also worked for three years as a consultant at the Australian Water Technologies, a subsidiary of Sydney Water Corporation.
Dr. Jegatheesan's main areas of research include: Membrane Bioreactors, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Hydrology (Catchment, Lake and River Engineering), Hydraulics, Environmental Engineering Design, Ecological Engineering and Sustainable Design, Waste and Pollution Technology. He has been nominated as an expert of international standing by the Australian Research Council, College of Experts and has been requested to assess Discovery Projects Scheme grant applications in 2005 and 2006 on Membrane Bioreactors. He is also an editorial board member of 'Bioresouce Technology,' a journal published by Elsevier Press.
