On 2 August 2006, AIT President Said Irandoust hosted a working-dinner for Prof. Slamet S. Sarwono, rector of Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, Indonesia, discussing the possibility of a unified masters program.
Language Center organizes French classes
French classes begin at the AIT Language Center on Monday, 21 August 2006, as follows:
French for full beginners, French 2 (20 to 30 hours) and French for Research (no knowledge of French required) will be offered for 250 baht.
Campus air-con off for repairs 20 August
Due to the removal of an outdated piece of heavy equipment in the central chiller plant, the campus air conditioning system will be off from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, 20 August 2006.
Although the particular chiller is not currently in use, the system must be turned off and drained to remove and dispose of the old equipment.
Yoga begin 16 August
Yoga classes will be held every Wednesday for six weeks from: 16 August to 20 September 2006 at the Language Center, Room 236, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
The type of yoga featured is called Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. It consists of exercises or postures (asanas) with specialized breathing (pranayama), hand and finger gestures (mudras), body locks (bhandas), chanting (mantras) and meditations, together or in sequence to create exact, specific effects.

GMSARN announces December conference
The Greater Mekong Subregion Academic and Research Network is hosting an international conference on Sustainable Development Issues and Prospects for the Greater Mekong Subregion from 6 to 7 December 2006 at AIT.
The conference is intended to initiate and stimulate international discussion on sustainable development issues in the Greater Mekong Subregion in the areas of energy, environment and natural resource management.
Bio-innovation subject of November workshop
AIT with support from the International Development Research Centre, is organizing a workshop on 'Integrated Policies for Bio-innovations in Agriculture and Health in Asia' 6 - 8 November 2006. Additional support for the workshop has been provided by the Rockefeller Foundation (Southeast Asia Regional Office) and the Asian Development Bank.
