7 new faculty members join SOM
The School of Management welcomes seven new faculty members joining in August 2006 semester.
Visiting faculty (One Semester):
Prof. Urs Bumbacher is a professor of International Management, Executive MBA- Program, University of Applied Sciences Eastern Switzerland/ HTW Chur, Switzerland. Dr. Bumbacher joined SOM as visiting professor from 27 July to 31 August 2006.
He received his B.A. in Physical Education and Sports, Federally Licensed Teacher, in 1981 and B.A. in Economics and Business Administration in 1982; his M.A. in Economics and Business Administration in 1985; and his doctorate in Economics and Business Administration in 1992, all from the University of Basel.
Dr. Bumbacher will teach the course, International Business (Section II).

Dr. Gerard Tocquer is MBA director of NOSPA International, Vientiane Lao, PDR. He joins SOM as a visiting associate professor from September to December 2006.
Dr. Tocquer received his M.A. in Marketing from the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada and his Ph.D. from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France.
Dr. Tocquer will teach the course, Service Marketing and Management.

Indian secondment (One Semester):
Prof. Peeush Ranjan Agrawal is professor and head, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India. He joined SOM as a visiting professor until December 2006.
Prof. Agrawal received his M.Com in 1976, D.Phil. in 1990 and L.L.B. in 1979, all from the University of Allahabad, India.
Prof. Agrawal will teach the course, International Investment & Portfolio Management.

Dr. Gopal Chaudhuri is an associate professor at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, India. Dr. Chaudhuri joined SOM as a visiting assistant professor until December 2006.
Dr. Chaudhuri received his B.Sc. in Mathematics in 1982 from Burdwan University, his M.Stat. in Mathematical Statistics and Probability in 1984 from Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, and his Ph.D. in Statistics (Multivariate Statistical Analysis) in 1991 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Short-term faculty
Dr. Jinying Hu is an assistant professor in the Department of Accounting, School of Economic and Management Tsinghua University, Beijing, P.R. China. She will join SOM as a visiting assistant professor from 30 September to 31 October 2006.
Dr. Jinying Hu received her B.A. Hons in Accounting and Financial Services in 1998 from the University of Central Lancashire, her M.Sc. in Finance in 1999 from the University of Reading and her Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance in 2002 from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
Dr. Jinying Hu will teach the course, Managerial Accounting (Section II).

Dr. Chanin Mephokee is an associate professor in the faculty of Economics at Thammasat University. He joined SOM as an adjunct associate professor until December 2006.
He received his B.A. in Economics in 1983 from Thammasat University, his M.A.E. in 1987 from the University of Michigan, U.S.A., his M.A. in 1989 and Ph.D. in 1993 in Economics in 1989 from the University of Kansas, U.S.A.
Dr. Chanin will teach the course, Managerial Economics (Section I).

Dr. Somrote Komolavanij is an associate professor and acting head of the School of Management Technology and Coordinator of Engineering Management Curriculum, at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University. Dr. Somrote joined SOM as adjunct associate professor until December 2006.
Dr. Somrote received his B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, his M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, both from the University of Texas at Arlington, U.S.A.
