As a follow up upon AIT's Memorandum of Agreement with Ministry of Public Works (MPW), Indonesia on the establishment of AIT Center in Indonesia (AIT-CI) which was signed on 27 June 2006,
Dr. Sugimin Pranoto has been appointed the interim director of the new AIT Center in Indonesia and has opened an office in Bandung, West Java.
Prof. Bergado receives IGS Achievement Award
The International Geosynthetics Society, through a nomination of the IGS Thailand Chapter, will award the IGS Achievement Award, a new category of awards recently introduced by the IGS Council, to Prof. Dennes T. Bergado of the School of Engineering and Technology.

Malaysian delegation looks at Urban Environmental Management
A delegation of 22 representatives led by its Chairman Mr. Haji Rozali bin Haji Mohamud from the Municipal Council of Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia, visited AIT on August 24, 2006.
The faculty of Urban Environmental Management and the staff of the SEA-UEMA project received them.
3R Knowledge Hub meeting set to formulate plan
Following the recent announcement of the waste reduce-recycle-reuse knowledge hub (3RKH) initiative of Asian Development Bank, AIT, the United Nations Environment Programme and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, an initial meeting to begin working out a plan is being called.
