Targets Thai-foreign business groups
The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) launched its Doctoral of Business Administration (DBA) program, targeting business people who don’t have time and would like to apply their research in real business. The program is differentiated from others in term of its interdisciplinary and integrated study focusing on creating a body of knowledge embedded in practices of the Asian business. Its target is about 12 to 15 participants. In order to realize AIT’s mission, they plan to offer the program in Sri Lanka and other Asian countries.
Prof. Dr. Indra Mohan Pandey, dean of the School of Management at AIT, said candidates are interested in furthering their doctoral studies, but with the burden from their work, mostly in senior management level, it is difficult for them to study full-time. Besides, doctoral programs normally focus on theoretical research, which is difficult to apply in practice while the participants want to study and do practical research which they can apply to their businesses.
