The External Relations and Communications Office is striving to become a resourceful, supportive service and networking office by driving the internal and external relations strategies of AIT and to be able to respond to the changing demand of AIT and its partners through public relations, communications and partnerships management activities.

Starting from early this year the president and vice presidents have started visiting fields of study to meet with the faculty, staff and student representatives and to learn more about the ongoing activities plans for the future and to also discuss other issues in general.

A delegation from the United States organization, The Bridge Fund, visited AIT on 22 February 2006 to explore further collaboration.
The organization maintains a focus on nomadic and semi-nomadic populations that are most disadvantaged and least served.

Prof. Sudip Rakshit, vice president for research, is planning to organize a one or two day workshop for the AIT community to learn more about ways to prepare project proposals in a professional manner.

The AIT Alumni Association Research Grant is supplemental to available funds at AIT enabling students to return to their home country to work on problems of national importance.
The association will provide partial financial support to three students, one from each school per year.

The AIT Alumni Association sponsors doctoral students to attend international conferences. The aims are to promote interest in sharing of knowledge and experience and to project the AIT image in research.
