AIT continues its partnership with the Bridges Foundation

AIT continues to partner with the Bridges Foundation on an 8-year long program of the 'Bridges', starting in November 2007 in Thailand and the Philippines, according to the meeting between the AIT administration led by Prof. Said Irandoust, AIT President, and Mr. Uwe Morawetz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, The International Peace Foundation, on 1 March 2007.

Under the program, AIT will host every year one or two Noble Laureates to have lecturer at AIT, starting with H.E. Dr Kim Dae-Jung, the 2000 Noble Laureate for Peace and former President of South Korea, or Dr. Mohamed El Baradei, the 2005 Noble Laureate for Peace and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

As a partner institution, AIT will also be highlighted in the Bridges publication and promotional material and other public relations for the events which will be carried out by the foundation's media agency Ogilvy Asia Pacific in nine ASEAN countries.

The Foundation hosted the event series 'Bridges - Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace' from November 2003 till April 2005 in Thailand some of which took place at AIT. In this series of more than 200 lectures and dialogues, seminars, workshops and artistic performances, 28 Nobel Laureates as well as decision makers in international politics, economy, science, culture and the media joined hands with Thai leaders in all parts of society to establish creative conflict resolution programs for the growing threats of war and international terrorism.
