Chiang Mai University
AIT signed a memorandum of understanding with Chiang Mai University on 27 February 2007 aimed at fostering mutually beneficial cooperation that would facilitate academic, research and inter-institutional relationship between AIT and Chiang Mai University.
AIT President, Professor Said Irandoust, together with the Vice President for External Relations, Professor Vilas Wuwongse and Dean of the School of Management, Professor I. M. Pandey traveled to Chiang Mai University, where the signing ceremony took place.
Professor Dr. Pongsak Angkasith, President of the Chiang Mai University signed the MoU on behalf of Chiang Mai University at which many senior officials from Chiang Mai University were also present. The academic cooperation encompasses, but is not limited to, providing joint academic program, exchange of scholars / experts, sharing of resources and facilities, sharing of information, joint research projects, joint organization of conferences, and other related academic activities.
The signing of the MoU was immediately followed by a discussion on concrete cooperation between CMU's School of Business Administration (SBA) and AIT's School of Management:
- Development of a 3-year plan for faculty development for SBA.
- Capacity building in business administration research for faculty and researchers of the universities in the upper northern region.
- Cooperation in the establishment of an international Ph.D. program and an EMBA program in international business at SBA as well as a joint master's program in hospitality management.
