AIT faculty invited to join the International Advisory Board of UN-HABITAT's 'State of the World's Cities Report 2008/9'
Prof. Nurul Amin, Urban Environmental Management (UEM), School of Environment Resources and Development(SERD), is invited to join the International Advisory Board of UN-HABITAT's 'State of the World's Cities Report 2008/9', which is to be launched in 2008 during the Fourth World Urban Forum to be held in Nanjing, China.
The invitation was based on his expertise in human settlements related issues. Prof. Amin will join the board to provide regular advice to the State of the World's Cities Report's team on substantive and methodological issues to ensure that the report can confidently address the international community and all partners of the Habitat Agenda.
The preparation of the next issue of one of the recurrent flagship report series the 'State of the World's Cities Report 2008/9' was initiated by The United Nations Human Settlements Programme UN-HABITAT. This Report is a biennial publication highlighting urban trends and issues worldwide with a view to bringing these to the attention of a wide global public, varying from mayors and urban decision-makers to the public at large.
