Smoking on campus
Numerous comments have been made regarding smoking on campus. The AIT policy is that smoking is prohibited in all the administrative and academic buildings, as well as in public areas on campus. Members of the community are requested to kindly adhere to that policy. As stipulated in the Student Handbook, smoking is also prohibited in the student accommodation units.
While according to Thai Law smokers are still allowed to smoke in their personal offices, individual rooms or rooms provided as smoking areas, in AIT administrative and academic buildings where a common chiller type of air-conditioning is used, smoking in one room affects the other rooms in the same area. This could have a harmful effect on the health of other friends and colleagues in the building. Therefore, the cooperation of the entire AIT community is needed. Please adhere to the Institute policy regarding smoking.
