Prospects for Collaboration with VINNOVA on Innovation Systems

AIT expects to have two prospects in terms of collaboration with VINNOVA (Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems - http://www.vinnova.se/) , in follow to a 4 May telephone interview conducted by Mr. Tomas Eriksson, Journalist for the VINNOVA-Nytt magazine with AIT President Said Irandoust. The interview focused on innovations linked to research and development.
One prospect is for a team of VINNOVA journalists to visit AIT during the first week of July 2007, following which they will highlight the work of AIT in the VINNOVA-Nytt magazine. AIT also will participate in the Sida and VINNOVA organized workshop on "Putting Ideas to Work-Strategies for Innovation-led Sustainable Growth", the first part of which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, 19 November-14 December 2007, with a regional seminar to take place in Bangkok in 2008. Vice President for Research, Professor S. K. Rakshit and Dr. Barbara Igel, Faculty member in the School of Management, will represent AIT at the first round of the VINNOVA program for Asia in Sweden in Nov-Dec 2007.
One of VINNOVA's objectives is to stimulate Swedish participation in European and international R&D collaboration and in the exchange of experience in the field of innovation. The Stockholm workshop is aimed at promoting the further development of innovative systems in the Asian region. Mrs. Marit Werner, Project Manager, Innovation Actors Division, VINNOVA has been working closely with AIT on this initiative.
