A signing ceremony on 2007 RTG Industrial Joint Research Project between AIT and 11 companies/Industries was held at AIT on 29 May 2007. The agreement was signed by AIT President Said Irandoust and the executives of the 11 companies.
The event was also attended by Dr. Suchart Muangkeow, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thai Commission on Higher Education, and Mr. Mangkorn Dhanasarnsilp, Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).
According to the agreement, AIT faculty and researchers from member companies of FTI namely CPAC Roof Tile Co. Ltd., Spar Mechatronics, Likitomi (Thailand), Boutique New City Public Co. Ltd., Burirum Sugar Co.Ltd., Bangkok Glass Co. Ltd., Siam Sanitary Ware Industry Co. Ltd., Green Spot Co. Ltd., SCI Research and Innovation Co. Ltd., CaraCAD Services Co., Ltd., K-Water, DODAM and EGAT will jointly conduct 11 research projects worth 19.6 million Baht. AIT’s contribution of 9.5 million Baht is sponsored by the Royal Thai Government, while 8.8 million Baht in cash and 1.2 million Baht in kind will be contributed from partnered companies. Research project worth between 1 to 3 million Baht can be carried out at AIT and/or at the facilities of the partnered companies.
The new joint industrial research program aims to enable member companies of FTI to make use of AIT research capabilities, while AIT faculty members have an opportunity to work on solving real-world problems.
