AIT to partner with IUCN on Coastal Zone Management Project
AIT will enter into a contract with the World Conservation Union (IUCN) for the implementation of a Coastal Zone Management project which will include 'National capacity and training needs assessment for different stakeholder groups in order to identify gaps, needs, strengths and opportunities for building capacity in integrated coastal zone management'. The value of the present project is US$160,250 and will cover Indonesia, Sri Lanka , India, Maldives, Thailand and , Seychelles - countries which were hit by the tsunami in this part of the world. Vice President for Research Prof. Sudip Rakshit is currently in the process of inviting interested faculty members to undertake the project.
