AITAA from Nepal and Bangladesh hold Meetings with AIT President
On 23 May 2007, Mr. Kishore Shakya, AITAA Nepal Chapter representative discussed with AIT President Said Irandoust, on the AITAA Nepal proposal to host an international conference on 'Knowledge Management for Sustainable Development' to be jointly undertaken by AIT and the AITAA Mother Chapter. The conference aims to disseminate and share knowledge and experiences among the alumni, enhance professional networking among alumni and with AIT etc. The event would not only be limited to alumni but also open to other partner organization and institutions. Mr. Shakya also met with the AITAA Mother Chapter President General Dr. Boonsrang Niumpradit, who supports the concept in principle and will discuss it further with the Executive Committee of the AITAA Mother Chapter. AIT President views this as an excellent initiative proposed on the part of AITAA Nepal and the administration looks forward to receiving a more detailed concept paper which could be considered further by AIT and the AITAA.
On 25 May, the AIT President also met with Mr. SMH Bokhari, AITAA Bangladesh Chapter President, who is also assisting the Institute in its student recruitment efforts. They discussed ways to further increase the number of students coming from Bangladesh.
