AIT trustee and member of the Executive Committee, H.E. Mr. Pieter Marres, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Thailand, has been appointed as the next Chairman of the Executive Committee, succeeding H.E. Mr. Jonas Hafstrom, Ambassador of Sweden. Ambassador Hafstrom will be leaving Thailand to take up his new posting as Ambassador of Sweden to the U.S.
A special appreciation ceremony was held following the special meeting of the Board of Trustees on 28 May 2007, during which Dr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, conveyed on behalf of the Board his sincere thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Hafstrom for his contribution to the Executive Committee and Board and wished him all the best in his next assignment. The Board Chair also thanked Ambassador Marres for having accepted his invitation to serve as the next Chairman of the Executive Committee.
