FOI-Swedish Defence Research Agency Delegates Learn About AIT's Underwater Technology
Dr. Matts Gustavsson (above right), Head of Department of Underwater Research at FOI- Swedish Defence Research Agency in Sweden, visited AIT recently and met with Dr. Mukund S Babel, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Dr. Amararatne Yakupitiyage, Dr. S. L. Ranamukhaarachchi and Dr. Manukid Parnichkun, to learn more about AIT's activities and to explore areas in which there could be mutual cooperation.

Free NGV Open Air Bus Shuttle Service between AIT-TU-NSTDA

As part of the efforts of the AIT-Thammasat University (TU)-National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) campus subcommittee, a free NGV open air bus shuttle service between AIT, TU and Science Park was launched on 14 May 2007. The bus stops in front of the AIT Conference Center near the Bookstore and the bus service is available daily (except public holidays) from AIT to TU hospital and to the Asian Game Zone A. AIT community members can also take a connecting bus from the TU campus to the Thailand Science Park.

AIT President Said Irandoust together with Ambassador Yoon Jee-joon, Senior Advisor to President, and former Ambassador of Korea to Thailand and also Pakistan / Afghanistan, visited Afghanistan during 2-5 June 2007. On route to Afghanistan they passed by for a day in India and visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi where they met with Professor Surendra Prasad, Director of IIT Delhi, Dr. Hem Chandra Gupta, Deputy Director, and Prof.

Catholic Academic Support Program for Foreigners renews an MoU with AIT
A renewed MoU between AIT and KAAD (Catholic Academic Support Program for Foreigners) has been finalized for a two-year period. The renewal of this MoU will make available scholarship support for qualified applicants from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Timor Leste and Vietnam to pursue masters or doctoral degree program studies at the AIT. In exceptional cases, students from Thailand may also be considered.

23 July: Coastal Institute Asia program

The Coastal Institute Asia is an intensive three-week program for coastal resources management professional. The program will be offered at AIT from 23 July to 10 August 2007, by the Coastal Resources Center (CRC) at the University of Rhode Island and AIT.
