This month some of AIT’s senior external relations staff as well as promotions personnel took to the roads in Bangkok to promote the Institute’s graduate academic offerings to students of two of Thailand’s elite universities.
At the first event held on 16 August, AIT was invited to participate in the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) “Route to Further Studies” seminar held at its suburban Bangkok campus. This event aimed to provide guidance for further studies to the graduating students of KMUTT.
Twenty-three KMUTT students, including ten female students, attended the seminar, where the head of the AIT’s External Relations and Communications Office, Dr. Pritam K. Shrestha, and the Royal Thai Government (RTG) Relations Coordinator, made presentations about AIT, its schools and fields of study, admissions criteria, and financial aid possibilities including Their Majesties’ Scholarships and RTG fellowships. Judged by the large number of questions and strong interest shown, the presentations were well received by the KMUTT students.
Following the KMUTT event, from 21-22 August, AIT participated at an exhibition organized by Chulalongkorn University (CU) titled "Further Studies Overseas". This event at the university’s central Bangkok campus provided graduating CU students with extensive information on pursuing graduate studies abroad. Representatives were on hand from universities based in England, Australia, and New Zealand; international organizations such as the British Council; and embassies representing the United States of America, France, and Canada. Thai universities offering international programs, such as SASIN of Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Huacheow University, Kasetsart University, NIDA, and Silpakorn University, also attended.
Students who visited the AIT booth were informed about the strong international environment that exists at the Institute, its postgraduate fields of study, and possible financial assistance including Their Majesties' Scholarships and RTG fellowships; and criteria for admission, scholarships and fellowships.
