The Vice Rector of China’s Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJGSU), Professor Wang Guo-An, visited AIT on 2 August 2007 and made a presentation on the Chinese educational system and education markets.
At AIT, Professor Wang presented some proposals for collaboration and ZJGSU and AIT agreed to the following:
AIT will promote ZJGSU's Spoken English Promotional Project (SEPP), under which ZJGSU will host faculty and students from AIT, covering all related costs (except airfare) in the SEPP as teaching assistants.
ZJGSU will provide Chinese culture and language / business courses, for the participating faculty and students.
ZJGSU will second faculty members to AIT.
ZJGSU and AIT will sign a student exchange agreement.
Both universities are also looking into the possibility of developing two-stage master’s programs, integrated bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as joint professional master’s and doctoral programs. On his return to China, Professor Wang will discuss this further with the ZJGSU administration and solicit their feedback.
