Interim Director of AIT Center in Indonesia visits
Dr. Sugimin Pranoto, Interim Director of our AIT Center in Indonesia (AITCI), visited AIT from 1 - 4 August to finalize the internal agreement between AITCI and the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) for the AIT-UGM (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia) dual degree program in Transportation Systems Engineering.
Last week, on 2 August, Dr. Sugimin Pranoto met with President Said Irandoust; Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean, SET; Dr. Kunnawee Kanitpong, Transportation Engineering Field of Study Coordinator; Dr. Pritam Krishna Shrestha, Head, External Relations and Communications Office; and Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing, Coordinator, Promotions and Alumni Relations. The officials agreed to schedule the signing of the general MoU between AIT-UGM, dual degree program; MoA between SET/AIT and Faculty of Engineering/UGM; and the Internal Agreement between SET and AITCI, in Jakarta in the near future. In order to promote AIT and AITCI activities, joint promotional visits to Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya will be organized following the planned signing ceremony in Jakarta.
Dr. Sugimin also met with Dr. Mukand S. Babel, Field Coordinator of the Water Engineering and Management Field of Study, and discussed collaboration in integrated water resources management (IWRM), wherein AITCI will coordinate with respective departments and agencies in Indonesia. Dr. Sugimin visited SERD and met with Associate Dean Dr. Kyoko Kusakabe, Dr. Amrit Bart, and Dr. Vilas Nitivattananon. He also met with Vice President for Development and Resources, Dr. Khin Ni Ni Thein, and Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Fundraising Campaign Director, regarding the conduct of seminar(s) in Jakarta wherein AIT and AITCI will be collaborating with the partner agencies/departments in Jakarta.
