On 9 August 2007, President Said Irandoust participated at the 'Meet Romania' Round Table and Wine Tasting reception held at the Thai Chamber of Commerce. The event was hosted by H.E. Mr. Radu Gabriel Mateescu, Ambassador of Romania to Thailand.

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) visits and invites AIT to apply for funding

Mr. Naoki Murata, Executive Director, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS); accompanied by Mr. Kayuhito Oyamada, Researcher, Office of Strategic Program, Asian Program Division, International Program Department; and Dr. Kou Ikejima, Director, JSPS Bangkok Office visited AIT on 9 August 2007.

During the visit, Executive Director Murata informed that although he is new to JSPS, he was familiar with AIT from his time as Deputy Director General, Department of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

JSPS provides funds for research and faculty exchange through Japanese universities and National Science Funding Agencies abroad with whom JPSP has partnership agreements.

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) delegation welcomed to AIT

A delegation from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), comprised of Mr. Fumiaki Takahashi, JST Executive Director and former Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, accompanied by Mr. Mitsuharu OTA, Director, Malaysia Office of JST, and Mr. Yuji KATO, Manager, Department of International Affairs, JST, were welcomed to AIT on 9 August 2007.

Formerly known as the Japan Science and Technology Corporation, since October 2003 JST has become an independent administrative institution.

AIT professor coordinates global ‘open source’ internet event with Mozilla

AIT professor coordinates global 'open source' internet event with Mozilla

Professor Kanchana Kanchanasut (left), who through AIT's intERLab, is coordinating a worldwide event with Mozilla (Open Source Organization) called Mozilla 24, an event which will shine the global spotlight on AIT. In the near future Mozilla will issue a press release from Mountain View, California, in which AIT will be mentioned as a partner of the event.
