SERD welcomes two professors
The School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) welcomes Professor Dr. Vikram Chadha, who joined the Regional and Rural Development Planning Field of Study as a Visiting Professor, and Prof. Yaw-Juen Wang, who is seconded by the Government of Taiwan as a Visiting Professor in Energy Field of Study for a period of one year.
Dr. Vikram Chadha obtained his B.A.(Hons.) and M.A. in Economics from Punjab University, Chandigarh (India); M.Phil in Economics from H.P. University, Shimla (India); Ph.D. in Economics from GND University, Amritsar (India) in 1991; and Post-Doctorate from University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 2001.
His main areas of research interests include Industrial Economics, with a micro- specialization in the Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Transfer of Technology and Technology Policy.
Professor Dr. Vikram Chadha has published over 80 research papers and articles in national and international journals and newspapers. He has three books to his credit. Moreover, he has presented research papers in over 55 national and international conferences and has lectured in universities in the United States, Mexico and Republic of Kyrghyzstan. He has supervised two doctoral theses and three more are registered with him; besides supervising over 40 M.Phil. and M.Sc. (Hons. School) dissertations.

Dr. Chadha is currently teaching Economics, as Professor of Economics, Punjab School of Economics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab), India, an institution that he joined in 1979.

Prof. Yaw-Juen Wang, a Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, secured his Ph.D., from National Grenoble Polytechnic Institute, France, and his Master's of Engineering and Energy Technology, AIT. He has been teaching at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, at Master's and Doctoral levels for more than 15 years. His research interests are Electric Power Quality, Solar and Wind Energy, Power Systems and Electric Machinery. He has published 6 national/international journals, 6 international conferences papers and 1 book. Prof. Wang will teach the course ED72.01: Energy Resources and Technologies, sharing with Prof. Kumar in August Semester 2007.
