Two visiting professors at ISE/SET

The Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE), School of Engineering and Technology (SET) recently welcomed two visiting professors, Prof. Dah-Chuan Gong and Dr. Adiyapatham Kandasamy, who have joined AIT for the August 2007 semester.


Professor Dah-Chuan Gong (left) is seconded by the Government of Taiwan for two years. Currently he is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan, R.O.C. Prof. Gong obtained his Ph.D. (1991) at the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. His areas of research interest include Global Logistic Management; e-Supply Chain and Collaborative Management; Manufacturing Planning and Control Systems; Material Flow Systems; Linear Programming; and Location Theory. For this August 2007 semester, Prof. Gong will teach the course AT72.98 - Selected Topic: Global Logistic Management. Dr. Adiyapatham Kandasamy (right) is seconded by the Indian Government, and is currently the head of the Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, at the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India. He obtained his Ph.D. (1989) at Madurai Kamaraj University, India. His areas of research interest include Linear and Non-Linear Programs' Problems; Network Optimization; Combinatorial Optimization; Optimization using Genetic Algorithms. During his stay at ISE/SET, Dr. Kandasamy will teach the course AT72.01 - Deterministic Optimization Models.
