Professor Peter Haddawy, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), this week was invited to participate in the UNU-UNESCO International Conference on Pathways Towards a Shared Future, held from 29-30 August in Tokyo, Japan.
Professor Haddawy served as one of the Chairs and Speaker in a special workshop on 'The Role that E-leaning can play in Transforming Higher Education in a Globalized World'. The conference brought together eminent experts from politics, the United Nations, academia, and the private sector with the aim of further exploring and discussing the challenges and opportunities that globalization poses to higher education and higher education institutions, and the future roles of higher education institutions.
The VPAA's participation in the event was fully funded and supported by UNU, and he was invited by Professor Hans van Ginkel, Rector of UNU, who was a former Vice Chairman of the AIT Board of Trustees.
