New AIT Charter approved

The final version of the AIT Charter, which was earlier approved by the AIT Board of Trustees, has been officially submitted by Dr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of the Board, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand. AIT President Said Irandoust, on behalf of AIT, expresses appreciation and gratitude to all AIT partners for their continued and strong support to the Institute, and to AIT Board Chairman, for the instrumental role he has played in the entire process.

AIT Alumni Association, Thailand Chapter, to contribute to renovation of AIT Library

The AIT Alumni Association (AITAA), Thailand Chapter, has expressed interest in providing some financial contribution for the renovation of the AIT Library. Through this contribution the Thai Chapter wishes to express its gratitude to the Institute, and the AIT Library in particular, which served as an important resource during their students days at AIT. Professor Tawatchai Tingsanchali, Chair of the AIT Library Committee, has been in contact with Dr. Anusorn Sangnimnuan (EV'80), President of the AITAA Thailand Chapter President, who is also the President of the Bangchak Petroleum Public Co. Ltd.

AIT President participates in receptions of Partner Countries

Recently, AIT President Said Irandoust took part in receptions celebrating the 47th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria, National Foundation Day of Korea, and the German Unity Day on 1, 2 and 3 October 2007, respectively. According to the President, such occasions are always important, since it not only provides an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with many of the Institute's partners, but also to brief them on some of our ongoing activities and initiatives

AIT VP-DR visits Sri Lanka and United States

Through the invitation of the Minister of Urban Development and Sacred Areas Development of Sri Lanka, Vice President Khin Ni Ni Thien visited Sri Lanka from 25-30 August 2007. The vice president had an opportunity to have an audience with the President and the First Lady and exchanged goodwill gifts with the Prime Minister.
