POWER Director and AIT President discuss joint online modules

On 28 September 2007, AIT President Said Irandoust met with Professor Jetze Huen, Director of the Partnership for Water Education and Research (POWER), who was visiting AIT at the invitation of Vice President for Development & Resources Khin Ni Ni Thein. Solid waste management, water engineering and management, urban water management and water and sanitation were all discussed in order to produce joint online modules (e-learning modules). AIT was informed that the next phase of the POWER project will begin in 2008, which is a five year project.

AIT and UNESCO-IHE signed a MoU on 15 June 2007 in Delft, Netherlands. One of the agreements contained in the in the MoU involves collaboration in the areas of water education and research. AIT was accepted to become a member of the POWER network, which comprises universities and research and training institutes from around the world.
