AIT holds Career Fair

The Career Center of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) will hold its Career Fair on Friday, 30 November. More than 20 major companies will set up booths for students who will visit beginning at 9 a.m. The event participants can expect to receive instant job placements, internship opportunities, long-term career prospects, on-the-job training, research partners, networks and goodies, such as free bags, pens, SIM cards and more!

The Career Center at AIT gives companies ready access to the institute’s yearly pool of 800 master’s and doctoral graduates.

AIT to host ASEAN Round Table on MDGs in 2008

AIT’s plan to host the “ASEAN Round Table on MDGs” meeting early next year gained added momentum during a recent visit to the campus by a group of high-level officials in charge of organizing the event.

21 – 23 November: International Conference on Air Quality Management in Southeast Asia

The Southeast Asia Urban Environmental Management Applications (SEA-UEMA) Project, in cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, will hold the International Conference on Air Quality Management in Southeast Asia on November 21 to 23, 2007.

 

The three-day event, which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, brings together a diverse pool of researchers, experts, policymakers and development organizations to tackle crucial issues related to improving air quality in urban areas across Southeast Asia.

UNEP.RRC.AP 10th Annual Advisory Committee Meeting

On 6 November 2007, AIT President Said Irandoust participated in the 10th Annual Advisory Committee Meeting of the UNEP Regional Resource Center for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP), chaired by Professor Nay Htun, who is a former AIT faculty member and previously held very high-level positions in UNDP, UNEP, having also served as UN Assistant Secretary General.

AIT-Mahidol University, Chulabhorn Research Institute triangular collaboration

On 8 November 2007, AIT President Said Irandoust, along with faculty colleague Dr. Preeda Parkpian, from School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) visited the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI) to discuss the second phase (the first phase was during 1999-2005) of the collaboration between AIT, CRI and Mahidol University on the Postgraduate Education in Environmental Toxicology, Technology and Management.
