Ask professional corporate recruiters what attracts them about graduates of the Asian Institute of Technology, and you’ll likely get two answers: English-language skills and an international outlook. It’s a skill set that sets AIT graduates apart from those other post graduate institutions in the country, they say, and positions them at the front of the queue in today’s competitive global job market.

The International Conference on Air Quality Management in Southeast Asia, held on November 21-23 in Ho Chi Minh City, welcomed close to 100 participants from 10 countries in the region.

The three-day event brought together a diverse pool of researchers, experts, policymakers and development organizations to tackle crucial issues related to improving air quality in urban areas across Southeast Asia.

In May 2007, AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust appointed a task force to create a campus environment that is healthy and clean. Clean, Green AIT  Campaign was started to approach to environmental concerns with the launch of AIT Environment month during the celebration for World Environment Day on 5 June.

Collaboration among Internet criminals has exceeded that of law enforcement officials, was just one of the issues discussed in a half-day international seminar at AIT on understanding the “Underground Economy” of the Internet.

The Asian Association for Agricultural Engineering (AAAE) is organizing its International Agricultural Engineering Conference (IAEC) – 2007 to be held from December 3 - 6, 2007 at AIT.

The conference objectives are:

 

To strengthen the profession of agricultural engineering by promoting information exchange, improving communications, minimizing duplication of activities, and optimizing use of resources.

The Career Center at AIT gives companies ready access to the institute’s yearly pool of 800 master’s and doctoral graduates.

The Asian Internet Engineering Conference (AINTEC) 2007 is scheduled to be held on 27-29 November 2007 at the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort Hotel in Phuket, Thailand and is co-organized by Internet Education and Research Laboratory (intERLab), AIT, Thailand and the WIDE Project, Japan.

AIT has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Siam Cement Public Company Ltd (SCG), one of Thailand’s leading corporations, for a collaborative initiative involving the development of human capital resources and scientific research cooperation.
