Students’ Photo Competition and Photo Gallery Exhibit
Last Friday, on the evening of April 4th, the main atrium of the AIT Center was the conspicuous locale for a photo exhibit that was the culmination of a month-long photo competition for the students of AIT.
In what was a true display of cooperation and organization between the Student Union (SU) Campus and Environment Committee and the office of the VP Academic Affairs, the temporary photo gallery shone a worthy spotlight on many newly discovered photographic talents evident on campus.
Dedicated to all those who used their camera lenses creatively, the exhibition showcased a wide array of poignant snapshots of all things AIT; all under the umbrella of the competition’s three photographic categories: AIT Environment, Daily Life (showing multicultural, social and sports activities), and Research and Academic Activities.
Organizers of the photo competition aimed to promote the aesthetic beauty of AIT, promote and document the lifestyles of its students, and entertain any and all with some special and lasting moments captured for all to see - thanks to stellar work of so many creative contributors.
Although it was not the primary draw, prizes were also at stake, and the top three winners in each category claimed a certificate and cash prizes amounting to 1500, 1000 and 500 baht respectively. All those who contributed photos to the competition were duly recognized at the final ceremony in which the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Peter Haddawy, and the Director of AIT Extension, Dr. Jon Shaw, both awarded prizes to the top-three winners in each category.
The top award-winning photos were as follows:
