Extramural Lecture on Climate Change by Professor Nay Htun


On 27 May,  Professor Nay Htun delivered a most
inspiring extramural lecture on the topic Environmental
Sustainability and Human Security: the Overarching Role of Climate
Change
to a full house at the Milton Bender E. Jr. Auditorium.
Professor Nay Htun is a former AIT faculty member and currently
Professor of Environmental Sustainability,
StonyBrookUniversity,
Southampton Campus, State University of New York.  He was formerly
with UNEP and UNDP where he held the rank of UN Assistant Secretary

Prior to his lecture, Professor Nay Htun met with the AIT President,
the Vice Presidents, Deans and faculty colleagues, during which he
provided AIT with a lot of useful insights and advice on how AIT’s
Climate Change for Sustainable Development¡± related efforts could be
more effectively oriented. He commended AIT’s for its timely addressing
and emphasis on this important issue. We have also invited him as
speaker to the Engineering Leadership Camp on Global Warming planned
this coming September by the School of Engineering and Technology.
