Two Ph.D. students of the Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources Management
(AARM), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) namely
Mr. Troung Hoang Minh (above left) and Mr. Chavan Balu
Ramdas (above right) won the first and third oral presentation
awards respectively during the International Symposium on
Sustaining Fish Diversity, Fisheries and Aquacultures in the Mekong
Basin, held from 3-5 September 2008 in Ubon
Rachathani, Thailand. The symposium was jointly organized by
Ubon Rachathani University (Thailand), Universite Paul Sabatier (UPS),
France, Department of Fisheries (DoF), Thailand, Network of Aquaculture
Centers in Asia-Pacific (NACA) and Mekong River Commission (MRC), and
supported by Commission of Higher Education, Ministry of Education,
Thailand.
Both the AARM students presented parts of their Ph.D. work.
Aqua-Internship Project funded by EU under Asia Link program supported
them, as well as other AARM students including Faculty members, to
attend the symposium for which Dr. Ram C. Bhujel from AARM
served as one of the keynote speakers.
