AIT graduate Dr. Areeyata Sripetch received the
second-level award from the Thailand Research Fund (TRF)
for her doctoral thesis “Design of DWDM Networks for Power
Utilities”. The awards are intended for Thai nationals who
graduate with doctoral degrees.

Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, recently was awarded the first
Nishino Medal for his internationally recognized contributions in the
fields of structural engineering and construction.

AIT was one of nineteen educational institutions from around Thailand
invited to join the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA)
Education Exhibition 2008 on 12 November in Nakhon Nayok,
Thailand.
MoU and MoA between AIT and Hokkaido University, Japan
On 4 November 2008, AIT signed a Memorandum of Understanding as
well as Memorandum of Agreement with Hokkaido University (HU),
Japan, to promote educational and academic exchange and
cooperation. The MoA outlines the exchange program between the two
institutions.
Former Thai Foreign Minister H.E. Dr. Tej Bunnag appointed Chairman of AIT Board of Trustees
Former Thai Foreign Minister H.E. Dr. Tej Bunnag was
unanimously approved as the next Chairman of the Board of
Trustees of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) at a meeting of the
AIT Board of Trustees held on 20 November 2008.
Dr. Tej becomes the seventh chairman in the forty-nine
year history of AIT. Preceding him were Professor Puey Ungpakorn,
Professor Oscar Mapua, Dr. Thanat Khoman (Chairman Emeritus), M. L.
Birabhongse Kasemsri, H.E. Mr. Anand Panyarachun and H.E Dr. Tej
himself from 31 October 2006 to 8 July 2008.

Close to eight hundred job seekers last week attended AIT’s
largest ever single day on-campus Career Fair. All attendees hoped to
catch the eye of recruiters representing some of the Asian region’s
most prestigious employers.
