Mrs. Tarita Mehendale, Founder Secretary and Chairperson of Indira
Group of Institutes (IGI), India and Mr. Adesh Gaekwad, Executive
Director, Project and Public Relation Trustee visited AIT and met with
Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean, School of Engineering and
Technology, Dr Nitin Afzulpurkar, Associate Dean, SET, Dr. Pritam K.
Shrestha, Head-ERCO and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Program Officer,
ERCO.
Mrs. Tarita said they wished to explore possible collaborations
between AIT and IGI. She also informed the AIT team that there could be
possibilities of partnership with AIT in areas such as Management and
Engineering, Information and Technology. In addition, joint research
projects, short term training or faculty training at AIT can also be
explored. An MoU between IGI and AIT is under discussion. Prof. Said
Irandoust, AIT President, thanked Dr. Nitin Afzulpurkar for inviting
Ms. Tarita and Mr. Adesh to AIT.
Consequently, Mrs. Tarita invited AIT to visit their campus and attend
the Indira International India Innovation Summit (http://www.3is.biz/about.html)
presented by the Indira College of Engineering and Management (ICEM),
Pune, from 23- 24 January, 2009 in Mumbai, India.
