AIT Scholars meet HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn
of
Thailand represented His Majesty the King of Thailand at a Royal
Audience for 30 AIT students. These selected students are the
recipients of the King’s and Queen’s Scholarships.

The Royal Audience took place at Chitralada Palace in Bangkok on
December 2, 2008. Among the students, twenty one are the King’s
Scholarship recipients. The twenty one students are taking courses in
the School of Engineering and Technology and the School of
Management. 

The other nine are recipients of the Queen’s Scholarships. They are
all enrolled in programs from the School of Environment, Resources and
Development.

The scholarship recipients were accompanied by Mr. Sumate
Yamnoon
, Seceretary General of Thailand’s Commission on Higher
Education; Dr. Tej Bunnag, Chairman of AIT Board of
Trustees; and the AIT administration led by the AIT President,
Prof. Said Irandoust
.  Also present at the Royal Audience
were the officials from the Office of the Commission on Higher
Education.
