AIT President participates in International Conference on Branding in Higher Education

AIT President Said Irandoust participated in the
“International Conference on Branding in Higher Education: Practices
and Lessons Learned from Global Perspective” on 10-12 August 2009, held
at Nha Trang, Vietnam. The conference was organized by the Ministry of
Education and Training-Vietnam (MOET), SEAMEO RETRAC & Nha Trang
University (NTU).  He was invited by Executive Committee member
Dr. Do Huy Thinh, Director of SEAMEO RETRAC, to this conference.

At the conference President Irandoust served as a plenary speaker and
also had an opportunity to meet and interact with H.E. Prof.
Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan
, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of
Education and Training, Vietnam, who was one of plenary speakers as

SEAMEO Presentation on “Branding in Higher Education”

Professor Peter Haddawy, Vice President for Academic
Affairs, and Dr. Evangelos Afendras, Director of the
AIT Center for Learning Innovation and Quality (CLIQ), also
participated, with presentations on topics related to “Research
Performance Measurement Network: An Asia-Pacific Research Quality
Initiative” and “Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher
Education” respectively, while Dr. Amrit Bart,
Director AIT in Vietnam and President Irandoust chaired a session.

The conference provided a forum for educational administrators and
educators to share theories, practices and lessons learned, and to
present their research as well as to exchange information on the
development of branding in higher education; and to promote
collaboration and cooperation among educational institutions. Aside
from participants from the US and Australia, there were a number of
presentations by AIT alumni working in different organizations.

Following the presentation by the AIT President, Prof. Irandoust
received several requests from delegates, enquiring about AIT and also
expressing interest in exploring possible partnership opportunities.
The AIT President along with his delegation also had a dinner get
together with some of our alumni during one of the evenings.
