The World is in the midst of an optical revolution with a huge demand for optical engineers. While the US has 700,000 electrical engineers and 600,000 mechanical engineers, it only has 60,000 optical engineers. Enumerating the huge demand for people in optical sciences, Dr. Robert P. Breault, Chairman of the Board of Breault Research Organization (BRO) stated that the biosciences industry will boost the demand even further. “There are simply not enough optical engineers to conduct the required researchâ€, Dr Breault remarked while addressing a gathering at the Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology at AIT.
