Representatives from AIT attended the reception of the 60th anniversary
of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. They included the
Ms. Wannapa Pliansri, Coordinator-Royal Thai Government Relations,
External Relations and Communication Office (ERCO); Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal,
Program Officer, ERCO and Ms. Zhu Linli , President of the AIT Chinese
student association.
During the reception, Ms. Wannapa informed H.E. Mr. Guan Mu,
Ambassador of China to Thailand, Ms. Pang Li and Mr. Qui Ning, First
Secretary (Education) that AIT would be organizing a press conference
in China on 26 October at Beijing
Normal University.
AIT has enjoyed a long association with China with senior
Chinese government officials having been represented on the AIT Board
of Trustees since 1990. Currently Mr. Liu Baoli, Deputy Director-
General, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges (DICE),
Ministry of Education, People Republic of China is the member of the
AIT Board of Trustees. Till date, 701 Chinese nationals have graduated
from AIT. Apart from them, AIT has trained 267 professionals from China
since 1977. An AIT alumni from China Mr. Yu Xiaogang was awarded the
Ramon Magsaysay Award. At present 19 students from China are studying
at AIT.
