AIT Photo competition awards announced

The popular vote went to Phan The Hieu from SERD, whose image of fall
at AIT campus received the maximum number of votes. Ja San Lu emerged
winner in Category 1 (Golden Jubilee at AIT), while Surachat
Chantarachit was the winner in Category 2 (Climate Change and
Sustainable Development). Risdiyono from the School of Engineering and
Technology (SET) won the award in Category 3 (Diversity)

The prizes were awarded by the AIT President Said Irandoust and AIT
Senior media specialist Shawn Patrick Kelly. The AIT President was
impressed with the quality of photographs and spend considerable time
visiting the photo exhibition.

Ann Lopez Fontilla, Head Students welcomed the participants and
appreciated Canon Marketing Thailand for sponsoring the event. She said
that this was the first time that the competition had been thrown open
to everyone within AIT. This was also the first time that a corporate
had associated with the photo competition, which will help raise the
level of the competition. Shankar Tagad, Head AIT Students Union
thanked the participants for an overwhelming response to the
competition.

The competition was open to the entire AIT community including
enrolled students, scholars, researchers, faculty, staff and their
immediate families. The exhibition will continue till 11 December 2009.

The competition organized by the AIT Student Union with the help of
the Media and Communications Unit (MCU) of AIT was sponsored by CANON
Marketing Thailand who are offering the following prizes: Grand Prize :
CANON EOS 1000D with EF-S 18-55mm IS (worth 19,900 THB), Popular Vote
Prize: CANON PowerShot D10 (worth 13,900 THB) and three category winner
Prizes: CANON IXUS 95 IS (worth 8,990 THB).
