Asian Institute of Technology has signed two partnership agreements
with the South Asian Institute of Management (SAIM) and Pokhara University (PU).
The MoU with SAIM focuses on offering graduate and under-graduate
programs including two stage master’s degree programs, joint
research/project proposal development and seeking funding; apart from
capacity building of SAIM faculty members through degree and training
programs. The partnership with PU is to enable cooperation between AIT
and PU for capacity building of PU faculty members through degree and
training programs at AIT, including non-residential doctoral programs,
joint research/project proposal development and seeking funding, joint
bachelor degree programs, and unified bachelor-master’s degree
programs.
At the signing ceremony, the delegation from SAIM was led by Professor
Bijay KC, Dean of SAIM, while the delegation from PU was headed by Vice
Chancellor Professor Keshar Jung Baral.
Mr. Karma Rana, Institute Secretary, and Ms. Naina Shakya, Coordinator
– Partner Relations and Development, ERCO, also visited and had
follow-up meetings with various institutes and organizations including
Nepal Airlines Corporation, with whom AIT is exploring co-branding
opportunities, Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) with whom AIT
has just finalized a MoU, and SAIM.
