AIT signs agreements with three companies for RTG-funded Joint Research Projects

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed agreements with three companies – Advanced Agro Public Company Limited, D.A. Research Center Company Limited, and Likitomi (Thailand) Company Limited to launch joint research projects under the Royal Thai Government (RTG) funding program. AIT faculty members and researchers from these companies will jointly participate in the respective projects.

With 70 per cent of the world’s irrigated land lying in Asia, environmental water stress is very closely correlated to irrigation practices in the region. Demography, diet and diversification are the three major drivers influencing irrigation practices in Asia. This was stated by Mr. Thierry Facon, Senior Water Management Officer of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) while delivering the keynote address at the Regional R&D Workshop on “Water saving irrigation practices in rice-based canal systemsâ€, which is being jointly organized by the University of Copenhagen (KU and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) at the AIT Conference Center.
