Khazar University expresses interest in AIT

During his meeting with Prof. Said Irandoust, President of AIT, Prof.
Isayev explored areas of cooperation with AIT particularly since AIT is
keen on greater engagement in Central Asia. He met Dr. Nitin V.
Afzulpurkar, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET);
Prof. Joydeep Dutta, Director, Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology
(CoEN); Prof. Gabor L. Hornyak, Visiting Faculty, CoEN; Dr Mousa M.
Mohamad Nazhad, Coordinator of Pulp and Paper Technology Field of
Studies; Dr. Pisut Koomsap of SET; Mr. Börje Wallberg of Yunus Center
at AIT and Mr.Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer, External
Relations and Communications Office (ERCO).

Khazar University, based in Baku,
is a private educational institution for undergraduate, graduate and
professional studies promoting advanced study and research, educational
policy and development in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Khazar is the
first private University in Azerbaijan and offers an array of subjects
ranging from arts, humanities and social sciences, architecture,
engineering and applied sciences, economics, management and business
administration, law, education, medicine, dentistry and public health.
Apart from Azerbaijan and countries of the former Soviet Union, the
university attracts students from the Middle East, Africa, India,
Pakistan, South Korea, Europe, North America etc. They have a total
student body of approximately 1700, out of which 54.4% are males and
45.6% females, with 20% of the students pursuing graduate studies, and
international students constituting about 15% of the total student
body. They have about 200 full-time and adjunct faculty members.
