A candle lighting ceremony was organized where the newly inducted
alumni pledged their allegiance to the ideals of AIT and pledged to be
helpful and useful to society. An informal gathering was organized
following the ceremony which enabled the new and senior alumni to
interact with each other.
President of the mother chapter of AITAA, Mr. Chaovalit Ekabut
expressed pride on the achievements of the graduands and welcomed them
to the AIT alumni family. He noted that the induction ceremony marked
the beginning of a lifelong relationship between them and AIT through
its alumni. The alumni association is meant to network, share, and
support all members so that they can work towards the betterment of the
communities which they serve. Mr. Chaovalit also expressed his
appreciation to AIT for its strong and continued support in the
activities of the AITAA.
Among those prominent alumni that participated in the ceremony
included Dr. Chainarong Na Lamphun (1980), former President of the
AITAA Mother Chapter; Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul (1976); Dr. H.L.
Tien (1985) and Mrs. Apaporn Luang-a-ram (1997).
AIT President Said Irandoust shared his own personal experience and
interaction with the alumni during his travels to the region. The AIT
President also highlighted the various instances of strong support that
AIT had received from its alumni.
