The two institutions have decided to promote cooperation on joint
research and academic exchanges which shall contribute to sustainable
development. They shall jointly promote education, research and
outreach cooperation by encouraging direct contact and cooperation
between their departments, research units and scientists.
According to the MOA’s, Dr. Raphaël Duboz will be seconded to the
Computer Science / Information Management (CM/IM) Field of Study at
School of Engineering and Technology (SET), while Dr. Damien Jourdain
shall be seconded to Water Engineering and Management (WEM) and Natural
Resource Management (NRM) Field of Study at School of Environment,
Resources and Development (SERD). Dr. Duboz, a scientist at Research
Unit on Animal and Integrated Risks Assessment, CIRAD shall be at AIT
from July 2010 to June 2013. Dr. Jourdain, senior scientist, Research
Unit on Water Management, CIRAD shall be at AIT from August 2010 to
July 2014.
Apart from Dr. Maillard, the CIRAD delegation also included Dr.
Antoine Leconte, CIRAD's Representative to Thailand. They were
accompanied by Mr. Maurice Siveton, Regional Counselor for Cooperation
in South-East Asia at the Embassy of France in Thailand; and Ms. Cécile
Faraud, Assistant to the Counselor for Regional Cooperation in South
East Asia.
Prof. Sudip Kumar Rakshit, Vice President for Research; Prof. Joydeep
Dutta, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Weerakorn Ongsakul,
Dean, School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD); Dr.
Wenresti Glino Gallardo, Coordinator, Aquaculture and Aquatic Resources
Management (AARM) Field of Study SERD; Dr. Sylvain Perret, Visiting
Professor, and Mr. Olivier Dréan, Coordinator of the French Cooperation
and Advisor to the Administration also attended the ceremony.
